Expository Structures

We have already hit the ground running in this new year.  With the Writing STAAR ever looming it's head in March, we are really trying to focus on authentic (less formulaic) writing for the students.  For the next three weeks, we will be working on Expository Essays.  I have attached some various structures that you can try at home with your child for extra writing practice.  Once your child has completed a structure, have them look at the rubrics and decide where they would fall (1 through 4).  This should give students a little extra practice, help them focus on more authentic writing, and see areas that they need to improve on.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Monk
