Read to Self

In first grade, there is a huge push to become better readers.  No matter where each student begins, we all are striving to become the best reader that we can be.  How do we become better readers you may ask.  Through lots of instruction AND also by having time to practice reading daily.  I used this illustration with the kids - If you want to become a better soccer player you have to take to time to practice.  The same applies for reading. . . If you want to become a better reader, you have to practice.  Here is a sneak peek of your kiddos practicing to become a better reader.  I also used this picture to place on the front of their book boxes.  I LOVE the way they turned out!
