Summer is HERE!!
As I sit here today in an empty classroom, I am having time to reflect on just what a fabulous year this has been. We have learned so much and come so far from where we were on that first day of school. Every single child has made astonishing academic progress and their love for learning has grown. They each have become a child who asks inquisitive questions and takes the time to defend their thinking. There have been frustrations and breakthroughs, some tears and lots of giggles, and new friendships that were formed. This last week there have been smiles, hugs, stories shared, and even a few tears shed as we had to leave each other and move on to the next chapter. I feel honored to have gotten to know your precious kiddos. They are just so unique and special. They each made my job interesting and fun every day. Thanks again for entrusting your child to me daily. I love your kids and feel blessed that I got to be apart of their educational journey. They will each all hold a special place in my heart as the first fourth grade class that I have taught. Have a fabulous fun filled summer! You guys deserve it. :-)

Texas Hall of Fame - Monk Homeroom
Hey Parents,
In case you missed the Texas Hall of Fame (or you want to share with grandparents), I have videoed each child doing their presentation and placed them on my blog. I have divided the two classes videos up in hopes that it won't take too long to load each video. Please feel free to look at both classes video's though and all the hard work the kids put into their projects. I couldn't be prouder!!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Monk

Texas Hall of Fame - Pictures
I am so very proud of all of the hard work each child has placed into this Texas Hall of Fame project. From the costumes, to the research papers, to the time capsules, the students really dove into learning about their famous Texan! I was unbelievably impressed with their confidence in sharing all they have learned during their presentations as well. I was beaming with pride all morning as the kids showed off their learning to you guys as well as all the students in the school!! Here are a picture of their costumes!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Monk
