High Touch High Tech

Today we had a group of scientists come and teach us even more about the ocean.  Students loved learning about phytoplankton, ocean fossils, and getting to create their own coral reefs.  This is such a great program that our PTA sponsors for us.  I can't tell you how much the students loved this experience.  Be sure to ask them all about the things they learned today!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Monk

Bring your own device day was such a success!  The students had a blast and were very respectful of each other's devices. Here are some snapshots of them enjoying all the fun!

Ipad Lab

Today we had a chance to visit our Ipad Lab.  The students started making an illustration of the ocean animal that they researched a couple of weeks ago. The students loved getting to "play" on the Ipads today.  They really had fun getting to create their illustration in the app Doodle Buddy.  If you have a device that can download apps, this is a great one that allows students to draw.  We will be creating more with this project in the future.  When our project is finished, I will be sure to send it to you.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Monk

Valentine's Day

We had a great time together on Friday.  The students loved getting to make and pass out Valentine's to the class.  You can tell they really have a heart for making everyone feel loved.  We also had a great time at the party. A HUGE shout out and thank you to the room moms and volunteers that made the party work so great.  This is by far the best party I have ever seen as a teacher.  The students were so engaged and had a great time making so many fun Valentine's day crafts! Thanks for coming and helping make this party work so smoothly.  My favorite part about Valentine's Day is getting to share it with the people I love.  I absolutely LOVE your children.  They make me so happy.  They have the biggest hearts and are true gems!  Thanks for sharing them with me every day.  I truly feel blessed!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Monk

Passing out Valentines

So happy with their boxes full of LOVE!

Fun Valentine's Day Crafts and Party

Brag Portion:  Jarrod sent me flowers (because he is the BEST).  The students all wanted to know the meaning of the yellow flower.  It was so funny hearing their thoughts.  One thought it represented me as the teacher and all the red ones represented them as the students.  One thought the red represented all the kids that I had - HA!  One thought it was just pretty that way.  One thought it was because we loved each other a lot (red flowers) and a little bit friends too (yellow flower).  They are so funny and literally make me laugh out loud!
