Summer is Here!!!

As I sit here today in an empty classroom, I am having time to reflect on just what a fabulous year this has been.  We have learned so much and come so far from where we were on that first day of school.  Every single child has made astonishing academic progress and their love for learning has grown.  They each have become a child who asks inquisitive questions and takes the time to defend their thinking.  There have been frustrations and breakthroughs, some tears and lots of giggles, and new friendships that were formed.  This last week there have been smiles, hugs, stories shared, and even a few tears shed as we had to leave each other and move on to the next chapter.  I feel honored to have gotten to know your precious kiddos.  They are just so unique and special.  They each made my job interesting and fun every day. Thanks again for entrusting your child to me daily.  I love your kids and feel blessed that I got to be apart of their educational journey. Have a fabulous fun filled summer!  You guys deserve it. :-)

Sincerely,
Mrs. Monk

When I Grow Up ...

I can't believe this year is coming to an end so quickly.  Before you know it, the kiddos are going to have real jobs and graduated.  Ok . . . so that may be a little ways away but the kids are already thinking about what they want to be when they grow up.  I wonder if their predictions will come true. . . Can't wait to see what the future holds for them. The sky is the limit with this group!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Monk
(So glad I chose to be a teacher when I grew up!)

Last Week Fun

This week we are celebrating all that we have done this year and are having some fun!  Yesterday we got to play some minute to win it games and today we are having a game day.  The kids are loving getting a chance to spend time together and just have some fun.  Today the students also got to meet the infamous Mr. Monk. :-)  Jarrod came up to meet the class and helped me pass out my class gift and awards.  I do fun classroom awards that have candy attached to the title so . . . your child will be coming home with some candy today.  Some kids have chocolate so make sure to check the backpack so nothing melts.   In there gift is also our class important book.  We have been working hard on this book for quite a while now, so I am sure they are ready to show off their hard work to you.  I also included a whiteboard a marker for each kid.  The students have LOVED getting to use whiteboards in our class this year so I thought that would be the perfect gift for them.  Here are just a couple pictures from our fun.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Monk
